Logs and getting help
Where Blabb's logs are, what is in them, and the four things to put in a support email so the first reply is useful.
UPDATED 2026-07-28
Blabb does not interrupt you with error dialogs. When something goes wrong the seven dots on the pill turn red and the log records what happened, so the log is where an unexplained failure gets explained.
Where the logs are#
%LocalAppData%\Blabb\logs\
Paste that into File Explorer's address bar and press Enter.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rolling | A new file each day |
| Kept | The last 14 files |
| Size cap | 50 MB per file |
The newest file covers the attempt you just made. If you have just reproduced the problem, that is the file to send — no need to work out which one.
Logs stay on your PC. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing sends them anywhere unless you attach one to an email yourself.
Note
Protected health information is masked automatically before anything is written to the log, so a log file is safe to send in a way a transcript would not be. This happens whether or not you work in healthcare.
What to include when you write to us#
Support is support@blabb.io. Four things turn a two-week thread into one reply:
- Which application you were dictating into. Word behaves differently from a browser text box, which behaves differently from a remote desktop session. This is often the whole answer.
- How far the pill got. Did it start listening? Did the dots move while you spoke? Did it reach typing? Each stage failing points at a different half of the app.
- What you expected and what you got. "The last four words were missing" and "nothing appeared at all" are different problems. If cleanup changed your words, paste both Original words and Final text from the history entry.
- The log file. The newest one from the folder above.
Roughly when it happened helps too, if it was not just now — the log is timestamped and it saves us guessing.
Report AI content is a different channel#
If the problem is the AI output itself — something offensive, or content you object to rather than a bug — use Report AI content instead. It is on any history entry, in the Settings footer, and on the Settings → About page.
Support email is for things that do not work. Report AI content is for things the AI wrote.
Before you write#
Most problems are on one of these pages, and they are quicker than waiting for a reply:
